human?

so i would like to propose something that was proposed to me... something so obvious, and so many times needs to be refreshed.

Jesus was/is human.
FULLY HUMAN.

and i know you're thinking... well duh he was human.. however; so many times when we read the gospels, we think... THAT WAS JESUS. He was God! of course He did those things. And we continue to have thoughts as, "well, He was God, I am just a human. To be correct, Jesus was... just a human as well. (side-note: Jesus Christ is my Lord.. I believe He is FULLY GOD and Fully human. He is my savior, and I worship Him. I am not undermining His Sovereignty. He is Holy. He is seated at the right hand of God, interceding for us).

AND.. He also came to this earth in the flesh.. just like you. just like me. He put his deity, His sovereignty on the shelf and was born from a woman. He had flesh.. He was male.

He faced temptation all day long, every day. He prayed in the garden so he wouldn't FALL into temptation. He knows what's it's like..

And what did Jesus say? "YOU WILL DO GREATER THINGS THAN THESE." The same spirit that gave Jesus strength gives us strength. He constantly had his ear tuned to Father, and asked for strength, direction, etc. He was the first born... we are born after Him, into this story... with the same spirit!

So we have someone...a human... that knows everything about flesh and blood interceding for us. that never gets old in my heart and brain.. because it's so... AAAHHHHHHH... Jesus.

If you want to follow this link and listen to an AMAZING woman Cherith Lee Nordling, she has much more to say about this and she's awesome. http://www.vineyardusa.org/site/audio/by/album/national_leadership_conference_2009...

words..omer...thing... stuff.

I was thinking about words, which led me to the small discovery of the their importance.

"sticks and stones may break my bones, but words can never hurt me."

-Who thought of that?

The power of words, a new idea huh? Okay, maybe not, nor a huge BLAM of insight, but it got me thinking. Words... maybe what comes out of our mouth doesn't diffuse with the oxygen that we breath. Maybe it sticks around and accomplishes the heart (or ignorance) of the utterance. Job 22:28 states, "You will also decree a thing, and it will be established for you." The actual meaning of the word translated into thing (omer) is a word, a command, a promise. In the bible; when you see the word "word" it had/has a tangible meaning... a THING. we tend to think that our words are irrelevant. That they float out of our mouths and then are gone. I think they can accomplish the impossible. I also think they can cut to the heart and destroy. They go deeper into the spirit realm to redeem, restore, heal, bind up, tear down, etc etc.

"In the beginning was the Word, and the word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning"-John 1:1. So Jesus was from the beginning, and in Ephesians we are called to be imitators of Him. The first action that took place in the bible was creation. God said, "Let there be light, and there was light." God SPOKE.. words. thing. Life happened from words. I believe that Jesus gave us this authority when he bought back the kingdom through the cross. And we have been given this beautiful gift of speech to bring life upon this earth through words (things). AND TO ACTUALLY SEE RESULTS. To speak truth which brings freedom. To proclaim salvation in people's lives, to proclaim unity over a city, body of Christ, school, etc. To proclaim justice in a nation.

"Take up the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word (saying, matter, thing) of God."-Ephesians 5:17. In Jeremiah 23:29, God compares His words to fire. In Proverbs God's word is a light to the path. So in the scriptures, words are compared with a SWORD, FIRE, and LIGHT. There are definitely more comparisons, but those are from the top of my memory. Words are things. Words accomplish, words are something we hold in our hands and battle with.

All in all, this makes me be a bit more careful in what I declare. Have you ever said, "I hate that person?" Where do those words go? What is their fruit? Are you declaring hatred? Have you ever said, "That person hates me?" Again, what are you declaring? Hatred upon yourself? I'm not trying to bring any condemnation, because I'm first speaking to myself, but i just want to bring awareness to the power of words. This is such a basic thing and I tend to forget. On the flip side, have you ever had someone speak truth to you and it changed your countenance? Or when your close friend tells you that they love you? The fruit of being loved is to love. It brings freedom to be yourself when you are loved. The bible also tells us to encourage each other DAILY! Not to think good things about one another, but to give encouraging WORDS.. things..whatever...

ANYWHO: think about words... speak life... ask God what words to speak...

SEPTEMBER-OCTOBER update.

This if my first post on my new blog. Sorry about the confusion of the cancellation of my other one. So here are the updates of my life starting with this september.

This is the awaken tour team, explained below.

AWAKEN TOUR (awakentour.com).
A lot of people know that sex-trafficking happens...in other countries. Not many people realize that it happens in our own backyard. According to the UN Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC), which has compiled the first such study from open sources, ten countries are named as the top destinations for trafficking victims: Belgium, Germany, Greece, Israel, Italy, Japan, the Netherlands, Thailand, Turkey and the US. The United States is one of the top TEN DESTINATIONS for trafficking victims. It's happening everywhere around us. And this industry is growing. It's holds the second highest profit in organized crime right under drugs; because you can can sell a person over and over and over.

Holly Morrell, a dear friend/mentor of mine started getting interested in the issue of sex-trafficking about a year ago. Since then, we've had prayer weeks with focused prayer about sex-trafficking, meetings, networking, etc. After praying where this is all going, the idea of tour came about and matured into a team...going on tour. A music/ministry tour to bring awareness, hope, and restoration to the church and to this generation.

This seems like a huge issue, and it is, however, we serve a MIGHTY AND AWESOME GOD! He is the light in the dark place and the hope and strength in restoration. The tour began in Kansas City; where we spent a few days in the prayer room at IHOP; and prayed with one another. We then left for Colorado, where we had a benefit concert, and also participated in a walk. We hope to carry God's heart for this everywhere we go and also carry the Kingdom wherever we go. Jesus brought the kingdom wherever he went, and we are to do the same!

Colorado was amazing and encouraging. The team now is in California with many other places on the road ahead. Because of my responsibilities here, I only went to Colorado with them but am praying for them on the road as part of their team. The beginning of January; the team is going international and partnering with YWAM Thailand. I have been invited and am going to Hawaii and Thailand for the whole month of January. Please pray with me for this tour; as it is bringing hope and awareness to a dark and secret issue. God's heart for this is leaking out and many members of the body have heard the call and are actively praying and seeking God's guidance. It's beautiful to see.

SOURCE BOILER ROOM

The fall season is our season to catch our breath from the summer. As many of you know I live in a woman's community house connected with Source. It is intended to be a transitional home; however; our transitional head did not have finances to continue with Source. So the house is operating as a Christian community house. I feel that this is perfect timing as the woman's house in a new community. We are now focusing on what it means to live in community and to be a family. We have morning prayers together, and also the boiler room bible study on wed. What we all have felt through prayer is that this house is a house of growth and for maturity unto Christ.

CLOTHES CLOSET/FOOD PANTRY

We have grown our resources and are getting to be known for our clothes and food pantry. This is wonderful as we see the same people that come in and are able to build relationship with them. It's getting colder; so I'm sure that our coats will be of good use.

CHANGES

A few years ago, Source Ministries changed their name to Source Boiler Room. With a change like this (check out boiler rooms on 24-7prayer.com) a lot of things have to be uprooted and rebuilt. Thus; Source Boiler Room is undergoing some massive changes. God is wanting to give a new wineskin for this new boiler room; but the old one is still there. It's a hard process but worth it! Please pray for open eyes and ears. Please pray for God's will to be done! I hear God speaking about family, about rest, about structure, and obedience. It's about BEING in Him. Prayer is where the work happens, outreach is just collecting the harvest. So please pray in this critical time.

There is so much more I could say, but alas; this is getting long.

only by His grace,

Jen.
